We very much appreciate a person's
opinion or point of view in the management of diabetes;
we believe that after 17 years of research in this topic,
we have formed an educated opinion in the management
of diabetes, especially in regard to "injection
site separation".
In the first place this is not intended
to be a scare tactic, but an explanation of the pure
facts, developed over and during our period of research
and 17 prototypes since 1985.
It demanded our attention why some
insulin dependant diabetics die in the prime of their
life, to name a couple of real tragedies; a father of
two daughters passed away after suffering a heart attack,
he was just 46 years old, a computer technician died
after many amputations from kidney disease, he was only
37 years old, a beautiful girl of 19 years passed away
in her sleep, and we can go on and on. They all depended
on insulin in the management of their diabetes. |
In diabetes: "Prevention"
is the most important single word! !
Complications as a result of diabetes
CAN and must be avoided at any cost and effort. These
complications are; Cardio-vascular diseases such as
heart attacks and stroke, blindness, kidney disease
and amputations. If you take into account the illnesses,
that have diabetes as the underlying cause, diabetes
becomes one of the leading causes of death. It is a
silent killer and it is the most ignored disease mankind
knows because it is not painful, you do not see it and
you do not feel it.
Diabetics worldwide have been injecting
insulin for 80 years without seriously practicing injection
site separation. To compare; you do not need to change
the oil or water in your car on a regular basis, but
by doing so, you will avoid wear and tear on your car
at a heavy expense, and would make the car last longer.
So it is with the management of your diabetes, by rotating
injection sites on a regular basis herewith achieving
a better 100% absorption and a proper, even distribution
of the insulin in fresh and healthy tissue you will
avoid wear and tear on your body at a very heavy expense,
slowly deteriorating the human body with the above described
complications resulting in a variety of related illnesses.
It is unquestionable that with every
injection, tissue damage occurs, when a person with
diabetes places the insulin injections repeatedly in
the same area, the absorption and distribution of the
injected insulin is subject to impairment resulting
in an increased need for more and more insulin to obtain
the same result to balance the glucose levels.
It is estimated that about 27% of all
diabetics do not recognize that they even have the disease.
Ignorance or even denial will turn a manageable disease
into a situation with results that are irrevocable.
Many times the excuse is; "if I had known this
before" I would have done it differently!
With the use of the Injection Locator
a diabetic is able to separate the injection sites (403)
in a given injection area (10). This innovative idea
creates the possibility to keep the injection sites
always 2-½ centimeters (1 inch) apart, hereby
achieving 100% absorption in perfectly healthy tissue.
The Injection Locator will allow an even distribution
of the injected insulin throughout the body resulting
in a more even balance of the blood glucose levels.
Using the Injection Locator may prevent, or at least
delay the onset of the complications of diabetes, such
as heart failure, stroke, kidney disease, blindness
and amputations.
Doctors, diabetes health-care professionals and diabetes
associations are always advising their diabetic patients
strongly, that they should rotate insulin injection
sites. It takes 4 to 6 weeks for skin tissue to heal,
2 to 4 months if the diabetes management is out of control.
It's hard to remember exactly where you injected yesterday,
let alone a month ago.
Once a person with diabetes become familiar with the
use of the Injection Locator, it takes less than 5 seconds
to choose an injection site out of the many hundreds
available. You buy an Injection Locator only once; it
will add only 1/10 of a penny on top of the 8 to 15
dollars an insulin dependant diabetic spends towards
the maintenance of the disease daily.
We sincerely hope that the Injection
Locator will help you as it helped us during the last
17 years of the development, using the Injection Locator
became for us "second nature".
